Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim county councils are among those on the shortlist for Chambers Ireland Excellence in local government awards.
In its 16th year, the awards features a total of 22 local authorities shortlisted over 16 categories.
Donegal County Council is among those on the shortlist in the category for outstanding initiatives through municipal districts; it’s for hosting the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in Inishowen municipal district.
Leitrim County Council has been shortlisted for supporting activie communities in recognition of its defibrillator mapping project.
And Sligo has been recognised in the Commemoration and Centenaries category for Sligo Armistice Day 2018.
The winners will be announced at the end of November during an event at the Crowne Plaze Hotel in Santry, Dublin.
