Sligo reach All-Ireland semi-final



Sligo women’s gaelic footballers are through to the All-Ireland intermediate football semi-final following Sunday’s 2-14 to 2-10 win against Offaly in Kinnegad.

Sligo were favourites going into this game and led 1-5 to 0-1 after the opening quarter. But the allowed Offaly back into the contest and the sides were level at the interval 1-8 to 2-5.

Offaly had further goal chances in the second half but important scorres from the impressive Ciara Gorman, Lisa Casey and substitute Lauren Boles helped guide the Yeats girls to victory.

Sligo’s prize is an All-Ireland semi-final meeting against Tipperary on August 17th.
