A Sligo councillor says boats have been abandoned for more than 10 years in one of West Sligo leading tourist resorts.
Independent Michael Clarke made the comments following a motion he put forward at a meeting of councillors from the Ballymote – Tubbercurry West Sligo area, to have boats removed after a certain length of time.
Some of the boats are there more than 10 years and have since fallen into disrepair.
With it being the height of the tourism season and the recent good weather, Councillor Clarke says they are an ‘eyesore’.
