Ollie Horgan’s Finn Harps give themselves a timely boost in their battle to avoid relegation from the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division on Friday night with a 1-0 win against neighbours Derry City at Finn Park.
Australian Harry Ashcroft was Harps matchwinner with a 66th minute header.
Former Sligo Rovers player Raff Cretaro – now with Harps – was honoured before kick-off with a presentation to mark his 500th League of Ireland appearance. He was later given a rousing reception when substituted in the closing moments of the game.
