Sligo Rovers U-17 girls qualify for top half of league split

The first phase of the Só Hotels U-17 Women’s National League is finished and Sligo Rovers have qualified for the top half of the split.

Phase one saw two groups of six play each other home and away, with the top three teams from each group going into the League group, and the bottom three teams going into the Shield group, for the second half of the season.

Along with Rovers, Shelbourne and Galway also finished in the top half of group one and they are joined by Limerick, Wexford Youths and Cork City from group two to form the new League group.

In the new group, each side will play each other once, with the top four then going into the semi-finals. The Bit O’Red begin their second phase with a trip to the AUL to face Shelbourne this Saturday.

Darragh Healy’s side are enjoying a strong season so far, having also qualified for the semi-finals of the Só Hotels Under 17 WNL Cup, beating Donegal League 5-0 in the quarter finals last week.
