Sligo LGFA meeting to review team management situation

Sligo LGFA officers are holding a special meeting in Sligo tonight (Wednesday 25th) to address the management situation surrounding county’s intermediate women’s football team.

Joint managers David Curran and John O’Hara were not involved in last Sunday’s All-Ireland qualifier defeat to Kildare. It’s understood their absence follows a vote of no-confidence in the management team, which was taken by the players.

Sligo reached a national league final earlier this year (losing to Meath in the Division 3 final) and were beaten by Roscommon in the Connacht intermediate football final.

They are still in contention for a place in the All-Ireland intermediate football quarter-finals.

Sligo are scheduled to play Limerick in their final qualifier game this Sunday in Tubbercurry at 2pm.
