Fine Gael have added former TD and sitting Senator Frank Feighan to their party ticket to contest the next general election in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency.
The party confirmed the selection of Mr Feighan following a meeting of the Fine Gael national executive last night.
Speaking earlier to Ocean FM, Senator Feighan admitted the swift selection process even surprised him, he added that the party are ready locally to fight for two seats in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency.
