Sligo Bay Lifeboat assists four people in difficulty

Sligo Bay Lifeboat assisted four people after their boat got into difficulty yesterday evening.

The lifeboat had been attending another call-out near Aughris Head in Sligo and were returning back to base in Rosses Point when they came upon the boat.

The lifeboat then towed the boat – which had just started to experience problems – back to shore.

Prior to that rescue, the boat was launched just after 7 pm following a call from a person on shore to assist a boat located off Tra Bhui close to Aughris Head.

Following a search of that area the lifeboat was stood down.
