Constance Markievicz honoured in Dublin today



Constance Markievicz will be remembered in Dublin today.

Lord Mayor Paul McAuliffe will unveil a plaque in Rathmines this morning, in honour of the first woman elected to Parliament.

Countess Markieviz was born in 1868, and spent most of her childhood in Lissadell in Sligo.

Dublin City Council Deputy City Librarian, Brendan Teeling says the unveiling will happen at her house, which was used as a base of operations:
