Tourism: Promoting the many ‘hidden gems’ of south Donegal



A new tourism promotion effort is to be made to highlight what has been described as the many ‘hidden gems’ in the south Donegal area, including all along Donegal Bay from Bundoran to Glencolmcille.

Over the years, Donegal Municipal District councillors have put much work into promoting the tourism potential of the area.

But newly elected Councillor Barry Sweeny says there needs to be a focus on getting tourists to stay longer in small towns and villages which, he said, are being ‘bunny-hopped’ at present.

The issue was discussed at this week’s meeting of councillors from Donegal Municipal District.
