Gilroy: Council will have to take responsibility for finding funds for public toilets at Drumcliffe

A north Sligo councillor says the county council will have to take responsibility for providing urgently-needed public toilets at Drumcliffe.

The issue of the lack of public toilets at the site of the burial place of W B Yeats has arisen following a discussion at this week’s meeting of Sligo County Council.

About 180-thousand people visit the site every year.

Meanwhile, speaking on the North West Today Show this morning, Sligo County Council Director of Services Tom Kilfeather outlined two hurdles to be crossed in providing public toilets at Drumcliffe:
