Donegal ladies footballer Katy Herron has signed with Australian Football League Women’s (AFLW) side Western Bulldogs.
The 28-year-old was part of the Donegal women’s team who recently recorded their third Ulster title in-a-row.
She becomes the 13th Irish ladies football star to join an AFLW side for the upcoming 2020 season.
Speaking to the Western Bulldogs website Herron said: “Sport is a huge part of my life and to get the opportunity to focus solely on that and play in Australia is very exciting.”
“I am very appreciative of the support the Club has shown me so far and I can’t wait to meet everyone in person.”
Herron will join up with Tipperary’s Aisling McCarthy who has also signed for the 2018 Grand Final winners.
