Leitrim councillor fears there may be an agenda to end one-off rural housing

Calls will be made on the local authority in Leitrim today to reaffirm it’s commitment to one-off planning.

The calls are being made by Sinn Fein Councillor Padraig Fallon, who has a motion tabled for today’s council meeting in Carrick-on-Shannon in response to recent revelations which are contained in the Project Ireland 2040 report

The Drumkeerin based Councillor claim’s the report is encouraging more focused settlements in the areas where cluster living around towns and villages will emerge.

Speaking earlier to Ocean FM, Councillor Fallon says the guidelines in the project Ireland 2040 Plan will have a hugely negative impact on rural communities.
