With temperatures expected to soar over the next few days in the north west, the threat of forest fires increases significantly across the counties of Sligo Leitrim and Donegal.
With this threat in mind, Leitrim independent councillor Gerry Dolan is urging the local authority to make submissions to the Government’s National Risk Assessment in relation to forest fires in the County.
Speaking to Ocean FM, Councillor Dolan says that with so much afforestation in Leitrim the safety of several households are at risk in the event of a serious forest fire.
