Sligo exit All-Ireland Qualifiers

Sligo gaelic footballers are out of the All-Ireland football championship after suffering an 11-point defeat to Offaly in round two of the qualifiers at Tullamore on Sunday, on a final scoreline of 3-17 to 0-11.

First half goals from Niall McNamee and Shane Horan helped give Offaly a 2-8 to 0-9 half-time lead. And while Sligo battled gamely enough throughout, the lead was always comfortable for John Maughan’s side.

The result means that Sligo have lost all 10 of their competitive matches across league, championship and FBD competitions in 2019.
