A Sligo/Leitrim TD has told the Dail that it’s ‘a scandal’ that an insulin pump for diabetics cannot be used at Sligo University Hospital because of the absence of training.
Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny says people who have Type 1 diabetes and have been prescribed an insulin pump are unable to get training because there is no specialist diabetic nurse to provide that training.
Yesterday in the Dail, Deputy Kenny asked Health Minister Simon Harris about the situation.
