Ireland becoming a welfare state due to housing market

There is a real danger that Ireland is becoming a social housing dependent society and a welfare state.

That is the latest findings from the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers who claims that the housing strategy currently being deployed is failing a generation that find themselves locked into long term renting.

The fact that young young people find themselves in a position where they are unable to buy homes is a major contributing factor.

Manorhamilton Municipal District Councillor  Padraig Fallon says young people have no choice but to rent and are being forced out the buyers market.
