Over half -a-million people were waiting for an outpatient appointment with a consultant at the end of May 2019.
That’s an increase of over 40,000 since the end of last year.
The latest figures, which were released by the Department of Health, have been described as “shocking” by Donegal TD and Leas Ceann Comhairle Pat the Cope Gallagher.
