MacSharry calls on Health & Finance Ministers to intervene in HSE staff dispute

The Minister for Health and the Minister for Finance  are being urged to intervene in the dispute involving 10-thousand HSE staff.

Workers are various grades, including chefs, porters and healthcare assistants, are involved in a pay row with the executive.

They’re going on strike on Thursday after talks ended without agreement at the Workplace Relations Commission last night.

Sligo Leitrim Fianna Fáil TD, Marc MacSharry says it’s vital that the government engage with SIPTU and try and prevent the strike from taking place which would impact negatively on the likes of Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals.
