Action group formed in attempt to save Kilcar Post Office



A crowd in excess of over 160 people attended a special meeting last night which was organised to try and retain the services of a local post office in Kilcar

A new action group was formed at last night’s meeting to co-ordinate the efforts of the local community to retain a post office for the area.

A decision was taken at last night’s meeting that an extension would be sought to keep a post office in Kilcar, past the end of June when it is is due to close when the current post master retires.

Linda Lyons is the secretary of the Action group – she says that the attendance at last night’s meeting provided ample evidence that the community are eager to maintain post office services in the area.
