Call for increased bus services from Sligo to Strandhill, Rosses Point

There are calls for a more frequent bus service on the Strandhill-Rosses Point bus route for summer season.

Councillor Sinéad Maguire is asking Bus Éireann to run buses on the route twice as frequently as normal for the busy summer season.

The Fine Gael councillor is also proposing for the time of the last bus back to Sligo from the villages to be changed from the current 8.30pm each evening to 10.30pm.

Councillor Maguire says this would mean half hourly bus departures from Sligo to each village and the same in the other direction.
