A status yellow rainfall warning has come in to effect for five north western counties.
Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal will be hit with persistent and heavy rain until midnight tomorrow.
It will be worst in coastal areas and on hills and mountains.
Met Eireann says there is a risk of localised flooding in places.
