Sligo-based group condemns lack of abortion services a year after referendum

A year after the abortion referendum, a Sligo-based group is hitting out at what it says is the continuing lack of abortion services available in the north west region.

The Sligo Action for Reproductive Rights Access (SARRA) says that despite the decision of voters to repeal the 8th Amendment, many women in the north west seeking terminations still have to travel elsewhere.

Denise O Toole, of SARRA, says there’s now a need for TDs to bring this up in the Dail.
