Growing waiting lists for childcare places is ‘worrying’

The new manager of the Donegal County Childcare Committee says the growing waiting lists for childcare places in the county is worrying.

At present Donegal only has the capacity to deal with 62% of the population that are able to avail of the free pre-school year, which is from three to five years.

Manager Trish McLaughlin says the government needs to provide capital investment to open new facilities throughout the county to cater for the demand.
