A newly developed family room has been opened at Sligo University Hospital.
The space can accommodate up to twelve people and can facilitate overnight stays.
The area is located in the Medical 7 ward and is funded through the Irish Hospice Foundation’s Design and Dignity Programme as well as the HSE and public support.
Anne Hayes, Development Coordinator with End of Life Care, says this new facility will provide an opportunity for families to spend time together during a difficult period.
