Garda in Sligo are warning people to beware of hoax callers claiming to be from British Telecom.
It’s understood the callers say they are calling to inform you there are issues with your broadband.
They say that the internet has been hacked and ask the person answering to the phone to press 1.
Gardai say the calls appear to be from Irish numbers but they are not.
Members of the public are being advised to hang up immediately and under no circumstances engage with these callers or give them any details.
