New bridge in Donegal Town represents an investment of €1m

The cathaoirleach of Donegal Municipal District says the new bridge officially opened in Donegal Town today represents an investment in infrastructure in the town of €1million.

The 123-year-old Tir Chonaill Bridge Michael Naughton was originally built in 1895 and links the town and the railway station.

Works on the historic bridge took around 8 months to complete.

Cathaoirleach and FF local election candidate Cllr Michael Naughton says the bridge has a huge significance for the town.
