The Taoiseach is in Sligo this afternoon for the 2019 National Famine Commemoration.
The main national famine commemoration ceremony today is in the Stephen Street Car Park, and will start at 2pm with members of the public asked to be in the viewing areas by 2.15pm.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is due to deliver a special address and there will also be a tree-planting ceremony along with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
The ceremony is scheduled to finish about 4:30pm with the laying of a wreath.
