Ronan Mullarney from Galway set a blistering pace at the top of the leaderboard on the opening day of the Flogas Irish Amateur Open at Co Sligo Golf Club when he set a new course record with a round of nine-under-par 62.
Mullarney’s round included a run of five consecutive birdies on the back nine.
His round beat the previous best set by local golfer David Brady.
