Call for natural disasters procedures following Donegal gorse fire

There is calls for the Taoiseach and Minister with Responsibility for Defence to outline the procedures in place in the event of future natural disasters following a gorse fire in Donegal.

Last month firefighters and locals fought a huge wildfire which scorched hundreds of acres of land in the west of the county.

There was also criticism of the Government at the time over the delay in granting approval for the Air Corp helicopter to be deployed to attend to the scene.

Sinn Fein Donegal TD Pearse Doherty is urging the Government to outline the work being done to ensure that communities receive adequate supports when faced with similar crisis in future.
