A Local election candidate has called on the Minister of Finance to offer similar discounts to distressed home owners to the ones being extended to vulture funds.
Manorhamilton Municipal District Sinn Fein Councillor Padraig Fallon counted on fellow Councillors to support his motion at this week’s meeting of Leitrim County Council.
The Drumkeerin based Councillor earlier explained to Ocean FM news that with 24 Billion Euro’s worth having being sold to Vulture funds in recent years at discounts of over 52%, Councillor Fallon feels that a similar tax system designed incentivise should also be applied to home owners.
