CAP to be discussed by EU candidates this evening

The Common Agriculture Policy will be discussed and debated by candidates running in the European Elections in the Midlands North West Constituency this evening.

The meeting, organised by the Irish Farmers Association, will allow farmers to question candidates on the issue and will allow them to voice their concerns on the policy.

CAP is the European Union’s agricultural policy which implements agricultural subsidies and other programmes.

Seventeen candidates are seeking election to the European Parliament in the constituency – two are resident in Donegal.

The meeting will get underway at 8pm this evening in the McWilliam Park Hotel in Swinford.

Chairperson of Sligo IFA is encouraging farmers in the region to attend.
