Sligo through to national league final



Sligo women’s gaelic footballers booked their place in the Division 3 NFL final after a 1-11 to 1-9 semi-final victory against Roscommon in Longford on Saturday.

Katie Walsh’s second-half penalty for Sligo proved to a crucial score in this game. Sligo led by five points at one stage in the second-half but Roscommon fought back in the closing stages to leave the result in doubt right up to the final whistle.

Sligo’s joint manager John O’Hara gave his reaction to Ocean FM Sport.

Sligo will play Meath in the Division 3 final after the Royal women beat Longford in Saturday’s other semi-final by 5-18 to 3-10.

The Division 3 final will form a double bill with the Division 4 decider on Saturday, May 4th. Venue and times tbc…
