Two Lithuanian men remanded in custody on drugs charges after discovery of north Leitrim growhouse

Two Lithuanian men arrested in North Leitrm in connection with the discovery of a cannabis growhouse in Rossinver have been remanded in custody.

The two, aged 49 and 22, are accused of possession of drugs for sale and supply and with cultivation of cannabis plants.

At Carrick on Shannon District Court this morning, they were remanded in custody to appear at Harristown Court, beside Castlerea Prison, next Thursday.

The charges arise from the discovery by Manorhamilton gardai, backed up by gardai from the Armed Support Unit in Ballyshannon, of a growhouse in a rented property in Rossinver.

40 mature cannabis plants and a large number of plants in the early stage of growth, as well as a quantity of cannabis herb were found, all with an estimated value of about €60,000.
