The Government are being urged to move away from the over reliance of the private market and drastically increase state building of public housing to help address the current housing crisis.
Local election candidate Jamie Murphy has made the calls adding that there is an over reliance on private Landlords to try and reduce the number of those on various emergency housing lists.
Speaking earlier to Ocean FM News Mr Murphy claimed that there is no long term security for families under Housing Assistance Payments and equally it makes no financial sense for local councils to accommodate them.
