Calls for speed limit reduction in Laghey

A Ballyshannon cllr has made an appeal to Donegal County Council to reduce the speed on the main N3 that intersects the village of Laghey in South Donegal.

Speaking at yesterday’s Donegal Municipal District meeting Fine Gael Cllr Barry O’Neill said that it’s past time for this to happen and that too many accidents were occurring at the village location.

He then formally proposed the speed reduction from 100Kph to 50 Kph – the motion was seconded by Cllr. Noel Jordan.

Speaking to Ocean FM Cllr. Barry O’Neill says an immediate response and outcome to his proposal is expected.
