IFA furious over meat, milk recommendations in Green Schools programme

Minister Richard Bruton has done little to endear himself with farmers after standing over a Green Schools programme advising students to eat less meat to reduce their carbon footprint.

IFA President Joe Healy said there was mounting farmer anger that Environment Minister would support a call for teenagers to consume less meat and dairy products.

Mr Healy has called for the pack to be withdrawn and amended before it goes back into circulation.

He also feels that report fails to take into account the efforts Irish agriculture is making to protect the environment.
