Busy night for Sligo Gardaí with a number of offences committed



Gardaí in Sligo had a busy night yesterday with a number of road traffic offences.

A driver was stopped travelling at 146km/h in a 100km zone along the N4 early this morning where upon being stopped it was found they did not hold a driving licence or have insurance, the vehicle was seized.

A man tested positive for Cocaine at a checkpoint; a blood sample was taken and is being send to the Medical Bureau of Ireland for analysis, the man was arrested and detained at Ballymote Garda Station.

Another driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving while there were a number of Fixed Charge Notices issued for offences such as speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.

Gardaí say it is never OK to drink or take drugs and drive
