10-man Sligo Rovers lose 2-0 to Bohs

There was disappointment again for Sligo Rovers on Saturday night in SSE Airtricity League Premier Division when two second-half goals from James Finnerty and ex-Rovers man Dinny Corcoran gave Bohemians a 2-0 win at the Showgrounds.

The result lifts Bohs up to to second in the table behind leaders Shamrock Rovers. Rovers remain second from bottom.

The home side had looked the better team for much of the first half – but a red card for Ronan Murray changed the course of the match.

Bohs took the lead three minutes into the second-half and added a second in the closing quarter. They too had a player sent off – Rob Cornwall – 11 minutes from time for a challenge on Romeo Parkes.

Dante Leverock struck the visitors crossbar in the dying moments but it finished Sligo Rovers 0 Bohemians 2.

This is the first of three consecutive home game for Liam Buckley’s side. They host champions Dundalk next Friday night, April 12th – and then Waterford on Monday, April 15th.
