Information meeting on ‘invasive species’ to take place in Grange

An information event for farmers, gardeners and those with an interest in horticulture will take place on what’s described as ‘invasive species’ in Grange next Friday.

An invasive species of plant is one that is not native to the area and that has a tendency to spread to a degree believed to cause damage to the environment.

Kieran Cummins from Ecco Advocacy will present the special work shop in the North Sligo Sports Centre in Grange at 7 p.m.

The event which is free of charge and is funded by Sligo County Council is open to the general public.

Independent Councillor Marie Casserly says the event will be of interest to individuals and community groups
