HSE rejects local claims of reduced nursing services in Drumkeerin

The HSE says there is no plan to reduce the nursing service in Drumkeerin, Co Leitrim.

It was responding to claims by local Fianna Fáil councillor Mary Bohan that the public health nurse hours have been reduced in the area.

In a response to a query from Ocean FM News, the HSE says that while the public health nurse presence has been reduced, the service has engaged a registered general nurse (RGN) to ensure that the clinical needs of the population of Drumkeerin continue to be met.

However, Cllr Bohan insists the service has been reduced, regardless of what the HSE says.
