Call for council to take over road to Cassansound Pier in Donegal

A Donegal councillor is calling for improvements to a road and boatyard that serves one of the richest deep-sea diving areas off the coast of Ireland.

It’s the road leading to Cassansound Pier at St John’s Point, near Dunkineely.

Sinn Fein Councillor Noel Jordan told a meeting of councillors from Donegal Municipal District that there is not enough place at the pier for divers to turn with their vehicles and ribs.

He has called for the council to take over the road.
