Public meeting taking place with hopes of saving Dolly’s Cottage in Strandhill

A public meeting is taking place with the hopes of saving Dolly’s Cottage in Strandhill.

Strandhill ICA have owned the cottage since 1970 which has been run as a heritage museum and crafts shop since then, being described as ‘living history’.

However, there is now a fear that the iconic building that was built in the 1800’s could be closed down in September this year due to a lack of volunteers.

A public meeting is taking place on Tuesday evening at 8pm in Bree’s Bar in Strandhill where both men and women are welcome to attend and help to revitalise the museum.

Margaret Mulrooney is Strandhill ICA Secretary.

She says they are looking for the support of the community.
