Funding for local roads isn’t sufficient says Donegal cllr

A South Donegal councillor says the amount of money being provided for the improvement of roads in the county under the Local Improvement Scheme is falling far short of what is needed.

The Local Improvement Scheme is for private roads that leads to a number of people’s homes, farms or businesses.

It involves the local people who benefit making a contribution toward the work involved.

However, Fianna Councillor Micheal Naughton says the €670,000 provided this year for County Donegal is not enough, particularly when work needs to be done on about 2,000 local roads.
