Calls for public water taps in Sligo towns and villages

A Sligo councillor is calling for public water taps to be installed in towns and villages in an effort to reduce the use of plastic bottles.

Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Kilgannon proposed the idea at a meeting of Sligo County Council.

However, it appears the provision of such taps would be a matter for Irish Water, which the council will now contact about the proposal.
