Leitrim County Council will have to appoint a Director and a Special Policy Committee with sole responsibility for agriculture and rural development if rural regeneration in the county is to succeed.
That’s according to Kinlough based Councillor Justin Warnock who has called on the elected members of the local authority to ensure that such a role is created immediately.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Councillor Warnock claimed the council executive is overlooking the contribution and value of farming and rural communities in Leitrim.
