Martin McEhinney is understood to have the Donegal senior football panel.
The Donegal News is reporting that the St Michael’s clubman has stepped away with two games to go in Donegal’s national football league campaign.
McElhinney is one of the remaining links to the 2012 All-Ireland winning side.
He had featured in league matches ths season against Clare, Meath and Tipperary.
