A second GP has been appointed for the Ballymote area.
The general medical services doctor will fill the post after it was left vacant due to the retirement of another doctor.
GMS GP’s are those who see patients under the medical card and GP visit card scheme.
The appointment was confirmed at this week’s meeting of the HSE West Forum.
Local Fianna Fail Councillor Keith Henry says it’s hoped the GP will take up residence in the new Primary Care Centre.
