A depleted Finn Harps team suffered their third league defeat of the new SSE Aitricity League Premier Division on Monday night when they were beaten 3-0 by Shamrock Rovers at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin.
Goals from Roberto Lopes, Dylan Watts and Aaron Greene gave Shamrock Rovers all three points. Watts also missed a penalty for the home the side.
A disappointing night for Harps was compounded by a serious-looking injury to team captain Gareth Harkin towards the end of the first half which saw him stretchered off.
Manager Ollie Horgan was also sent to the stands in the second half.
Harps must now re-group for this Friday night’s home game against Cork City at Finn Park.
