The Chairman of the Leitrim IFA and vice Chairman of the National Sheep Committee has called for Dog owners to be aware of the whereabouts of their animals.
Kevin Comiskey has made the calls to coincide with the IFA calling on the government to reintroduce a TV advertising campaign from the 1980’s which highlighted the issue.
Mr Comiskey also wants measures to be put in place which will link dogs to the PPPS numbers of their owners.
